The work of the Gippsland Offshore Wind Alliance (a partnership between Gippsland Climate Change Network and Committee for Gippsland) and supported by Ørsted, the Sector Plan sets out a practical pathway for building on Gippsland’s existing strengths and capturing the opportunities offshore wind can bring – from local jobs and skills to supply chains, infrastructure, and community benefits.
The Plan outlines regional priorities and recommendations across five key areas, providing a framework for government, industry, and communities to work together as the sector develops.
It reflects Gippsland’s longstanding role as an energy region while looking ahead to the skills, investment, infrastructure, and supply chains needed to support its next chapter.
At the event Ørsted joined regional representatives from industry, Traditional Owner groups, community, and education, as well as Energy and Resources Minister Jaclyn Symes, Shadow Energy Minister David Davis, and Member for Eastern Victoria Tom McIntosh.
